Nell came to our branch on the 25th November 2025, she is a gorgeous dog but needs a specialist home so we are asking all potential applicants to please read her biography carefully, the office is happy to answer any questions you may have about her as we want to find her the best home.
Rescued from a multi-dog household with unsuitable surroundings, young Nell is a very energetic and loving girl now that she has regular food, tons of playtime and proper care. However, based on the upheaval of her previous situation, she has separation anxiety and would like to be her future owner’s shadow, so we are looking for an applicant at home a lot of the time. Stairgates, crates and even doors have been vanquished in her need to be close to people – Nell needs to be up close and personal with you!
She has had very little training and hasn’t quite mastered the lead yet so will need a secure garden in order for her to learn the basics at her own pace – she is very excitable when she goes outside and will need an owner experienced with training, she is still young but eager to please. She has great recall and is getting to grips with crate training.
Nell is a collie-cross, as well as the personality traits outlined above, the breed is known for:
- Bred originally for herding sheep, working lines of the breed need an activity to keep them entertained, so consider agility or other classes to keep them in top form and high spirits!
- Collies are very active and agile, and Nell is no exception – she will need plenty of walks or games to stimulate her mentally.
- The breed is very intelligent, and takes to training well a lot of the time – and with Nell striving to impress humans, it shouldn’t take too long before she masters the basics!
