More information

Dodger came to our branch on the 9th December 2025 from a multi-cat household.

We immediately noticed that Dodger was quite a poorly boy – he had gunky eyes and was very thin. We have done a medical investigation and unfortunately Dodger has a hole in his heart, so he is looking for a foster hospice home or an adopter who can keep an eye on him to ensure he isn’t suffering.

Dodger is so lovely and affectionate but would likely struggle with the anesthesia to undergo any operation because of his age and condition, so we are looking for somewhere he can remain comfortable and live out the remainder of his life.

He will need monitoring to ensure he isn’t starting to suffer and unfortunately difficult decisions may have to be made later down the line if his condition worsens. Vets have given him an estimate of weeks to months to live.

There is a video of Dodger on our Facebook (RSPCA Lincolnshire Mid, North East and Lincoln) published on the 18th January 2026.
