Bella came to our branch on the 18th November 2024, where she was being kept outside in unsuitable conditions.
She came from the same household as 7 other dogs, who are all looking for their new homes – initially scraped and bumped, their wounds are healing well and they have been given a clean bill of health from their vet check up.
Bella is a Chussel (mix between a Chihuahua and a Brussels Griffon) and she’s 5 years old. We’re still trying to understand all of the dogs’ temperaments at the moment, but they have lived with older children and each other before, as well as cats.
Bella is a crossbreed between a Chihuahua and a Brussels Griffon, which means he is likely to exhibit these breed traits:
- Chussels are known for being great lapdogs and loyalty, making them a favourite of families with young children.
- The breed is also quite energetic, so although they do have a small size and are considered a toy breed, they need plenty of space to run around!
- Chussels tend to shed less than a lot of other dog breeds (but no dog breed is 100% hypoallergenic)
- Chussels can be territorial and over-protective, so owners must keep a close eye on them when introducing them to new family members or animals.
- It’s best to be on the safe side and avoid close contact between the Chussel and pet rodents, birds or reptiles as they can have strong hunting genes.
