I love being part of a team whose priority is always the animal - every decision we make is with them at the centre. It is an extremely rewarding, but equally heartbreaking role at times, but seeing the animals find their perfect home after coming in so poorly or so frightened makes it all so worthwhile.
Being part of the branch should come with a warning though, as over the years I’ve adopted three beautiful rabbits and three gorgeous cats!"
">"I started volunteering as a dog walker in 2012, moving into my role as fundraising and events coordinator and more recently being elected as Voluntary Chair of the Committee in 2019.

"I had previously been a volunteer over several years and set up the branch’s eBay sales outlet before taking on the role of Shop Manager when the Woodhall Spa shop opened in 2018. With animal welfare at the forefront, I have fostered animals in the RSPCA system and also have family pets of my own."
Having just started my journey with the RSPCA Lincolnshire Mid, North East and Lincoln, I am looking forwards to driving sales forward to help with much-needed funds.
All the staff, trustees and volunteers do an amazing job, hopefully I can add to the team!
Oreo was a rescue kitten who is such a character, and very much loved.
I am a graphic designer by trade, so generally produce all the posters, leaflets and general advertising that the Branch needs.
I currently have three cats, all started off as fosters from the Branch, but seem to have become permanent fixtures in my home!"
">"I have been a Trustee with the Branch since 2018 and have risen to the lofty position of voluntary Vice-Chair since then! I really enjoy volunteering with like-minded people who have one clear goal - the welfare and best interests of animals. At times it is heartbreaking, we hear and see some terrible things, but when that animal has been rehabilitated and goes to its new forever home, that is the reward.

Being a trustee is rewarding especially when we take in a frightened animal; give it care and medical attention and see it thriving in a new forever home."
">"I have been a Trustee since 2020 when I joined in the middle of lockdown. I am passionate about animal welfare and happy to help with projects ongoing within the committee and support the Branch Administrator function.

I work in the health and social care sector supporting older people. It always warms my heart to see a cat or a dog in a care home bringing joy to people lives. I share my home with four rescue cats who keep me very busy and exceptionally happy!"
">"I have been a Trustee with the Branch since October 2024, having previously been a member of the North East Branch. I am humbled to take on this role and work alongside such a committed and experienced team. I am passionate about the welfare of all animals and will do whatever I can to help and volunteer my time.

Having worked for the branch for over ten years I am very proud of how we have grown and what we have achieved together."
">"I am part of a team of Managers, assistants and volunteers who work extremely hard to ensure we support the branch by raising much needed funds through our shops.

I joined the branch in September 2023 and what an exciting time to do so, as we are now the largest RSPCA branch in Lincolnshire.
It is a very rewarding role that brings you sadness but equally lots of happiness too. Our aim is rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in need. I am also a fosterer for our branch which enables us to free up space in our catteries and kennels to help even more animals that need the love that they so truly deserve.
In my spare time I volunteer at a farm park with my daughter and we are very hands on. Every day is different, from looking after the animals to helping deliver new animals into the world.
Thanks to the kindness and generosity of people in both the local and national area, we are able to do everything we possibly can to prevent cruelty, promote kindness and to alleviate the suffering of animals within the Branch area.
I am the proudest owner of a beautiful ginger cat family - mum, Sybil, and two of her boys, Teddy and Tigger. Sybil was rescued by the inspectorate team after being found on the street, blind, severely underweight and limping on one paw - as well as being several weeks pregnant. All know that they are truly wonderful and that I love them all to the moon and back!"
">"I am a Trustee and the previous branch Treasurer, and also represent the Branch at RSPCA Regional Board events. I have volunteered for the Branch since 2011 and it is an absolute honour to part of the Branch.

I joined because I have had a life-long love of animals and I hoped that my past experience might be of some small use in supporting the brilliant work the other trustees have been doing over past years."
">"I have recently joined the Branch and hope to bring to it some knowledge and ideas from my pre-retirement role as a charity CEO, but mainly I am busy learning more about the work of the Branch.

I was determined to do more to help the Branch so it could help more animals! I sadly lost Harley in December 2019, but adopted my little Rogue in September 2021. I’ve always loved animals, especially cats, and I just want to see more animals find their perfect homes!"
">"I became a Trustee since 2019, deciding to help after adopting my two kittens Jemima and Harley, and realising that the adoption fee I paid didn’t even cover the cost of their vaccinations and neutering!

I joined the branch as Trustee at the start of 2024 and was honoured to become Chair in June and will strive to continue the amazing work already achieved by the branch.
I have a project management and HR background with experience in a number of sectors and I'm looking forward to working with the team to achieve the branch's ambitions to help more animals find the loving homes they deserve.
At home I have a rescue greyhound, who's loving her retirement, rescue hens, rescue fish and even a rescue python. No doubt more will follow!
"I joined the branch as a Trustee in 2019, bringing with me knowledge from working in wildlife conservation in Africa and having worked as a kennel manager in other rescues.
I really enjoy my role within the branch, and would encourage anyone to consider signing up to be a trustee."

I've been a trustee for almost 8 years and I love my little role at the branch; the whole team are passionate about animal welfare and it is fantastic to work alongside likeminded people, whether it is making plans for the future of the branch, helping to organise events, rallying round to find the next foster or arranging who can help take an animal to the vets.
It's a wonderfully varied and very rewarding role."
">"I started supporting the branch in 2011, firstly as a dog walker with a keen interest in dog behaviour and a background in veterinary care, whicy led to fostering some of the more complex dogs at the kennels.

I started as a volunteer at St Marks in 2013 and was excited when the opportunity arose in 2016 to manage a new shop opening at Lambeth house. I have a good team of volunteers who assist me in making it a successful, friendly and popular charity shop. We have also become an integral part of the community in that area."

"Having just begun my journey with the RSPCA in January 2025, I am over the moon to drive profits and donations from our new Hub on Lincoln High Street! It is immensely fulfilling to work for an organisation dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals as I am an animal lover myself. I currently have two cats, Salsa & Pico de gallo. "
