YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE WORLD BY SAVING ONE ANIMAL, BUT FOR THAT ONE ANIMAL, YOU CHANGE ITS WORLD...
WE ARE URGENTLY LOOKING FOR SHOP VOLUNTEERS
How to become involved as a VOLUNTEER:
Would you like to get involved as a volunteer but don't know where to start? You've come to the right place. v The first thing you need to think about is how much time realistically you can spare. v You then need to think about what it is you would like to do. v You & the branch can then together work out how the time you can spare matches up with what you would like to do
Do you have a couple of hours to spare each month in the evening or during the day? If so why not consider becoming a HOME VISITOR In order to become a Home Visitor:- You need to apply to the office and provide two references and a photo. You will need to undertake a half day training session (in Lincoln). Possibly have for a short time a buddy Home Visitor.
The Role of a Home Visitor is to ensure that before an animal is re-homed that it is going to a loving and suitable new home, and then to return to check the animal is settling into its new environment. If so why not consider becoming a TRUSTEE In order to become a Trustee :-
You will need to become a member of the RSPCA for 3 months (Annual Membership £17.50). Then be voted as a Trustee at the AGM or be co-opted by the 7 Trustees already in place. The Trustees meet every six weeks for around 2 hours to discuss issues and make decisions for the branch, for example deciding on potential new foster carers. If so why not consider volunteering in the CHARITY SHOP In order to work in the Shop:- You will need to be reasonable good with maths and be able to provide two references. Hours can be negotiated to suit you.
Then why not become a FUNDRAISER You need nothing other than honesty for this role:- The role not only provides a perfect opportunity to raise funds and help more animals, but it raises the publics’ awareness of the local Branch. You can hand out leaflets, man stalls or you could even hold an event of your own. Fundraising does not have to be 'hard selling' - much of it is about helping the branch to take advantage of sources of support/donatons already on offer.
We also need dog fosterers, rabbit fosterers, small furry fosterers (hamsters etc), dog walkers at our kennels (particularly for our longer termers and bigger dogs) and a wide variety of other roles. We can cater for most skills / talents that you can bring to the branch - we can help you come up with ways to raise money from most things you can do. Please get in touch if you have an idea, or you want a no-obligation chat about how you can help local animals in need.
